VAT INCREASED FROM 14% TO 15%. There is a massive gap in the country's finances, to put it bluntly. South Africa has an R48 billion hole in the fiscus that needs to be filled , and part of finance minister Malusi Gigaba's solution in last week 's 2018 budget was to push up value-added tax (VAT) by 1 percent point, as of 1 April 2018.This is the first increase in VAT in 25 years . Joubert emphasized that not everything you spend on will be affected essential items and services such as zero -rated foods, rent and accommodation, interest on loans and school fees are all exempt. Vat will mostly effect negatively poor because they will have to pay more of which they receive low incomes but as for rich people wiill not even realise the increase of vat but poorer will face consequently of Vat.Then what does this increment mean to the taxpayers.

ReplyDeleteOne of the socio -economic issues faced by South African citizen is unemployment. Unemployment is the situation of actively looking for jobs but not being currently employed. there are thousand of people who have graduated long ago and they are actively looking for jobs but they have not find them yet, but I think that starting our own businesses can help us to combat unemployment.

Shoprite started as a spaza shop and ended up being the biggest shop in South Africa therefore every big things started as the smaller things. let us not wait to be employed but be our own bosses
It starts with the small things like being able to stand up for yourself at a younger age. I believe that commitment is the drive not to look up to other people to make things for you.
ReplyDeleteThat's very true because most of our youth nowadays end up doing nothing having qualifications, whereas they would have started something of their own.
ReplyDeleteHonestly big things starts small and grow. I so wish that everyone can be able to see the secrete behind employment.
